| TRUST. To trust someone, you need to know who they really are.
Soulsearching has been very hard for me -- who am I truely, and what do I want to believe about myself? The two can get very mixed up... but I want to be able to know myself, so I can empathize better with people, and create some beauty in the world I'm 21 now, and because of my obsessive soulsearching I now have a definite sense of self with all my strength, weaknesses, and peculiarities. I do the best I can to be an open book; so here I am.
This website is dedicated to who I am -- and for your enjoyment of reading I hope =)
So, how do I see the world? Here's an example of what goes on in my mind among social situations.

Who's in control?
Who's the mouse, who's the scientist -- decide for yourself in the following example.
John reacts to Fred's actions by means of a conditioning response: reward or punishment. Fred sees this, and reacts to John by means of conditioning -- knowing Freds likes and dislikes, John can reward Fred by giving what he wants, or punish Fred by giving a response that Fred dislikes: punishment, also known as 'negative re-inforcement'. So who possesses the lead position?
Pro-active is the way to go.

TempestBeauty.XANGA.com http://TempestBeauty.Xanga.com/ - finally, another blog that's exciting to read! It caught my full attention (and I'm the proud owner of ADHD, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, so imagine) from the first line, to the last line... I even read some of the comments. I love it when I see someone who works hard to develop their potential; people who put integrity above reactiveness, who have genuine respect&understanding for people, and inspire instead of weakening other people (covering up their own sense of weakness, of course). Plus, her style of writing is one that enables the reader to relate with the writer, it's not just stating facts.
God's Gift From Alaska
Jewel is my new favourite female singer/songwriter! By the way, did you know Jewel is her real name? Her full name is Jewel Kirch. Great parents I was able to catch an interview of her today, and something she said really clicked for me. [INTERVIEWER:] Hey I was checking the web and I was amazed about how many Jewel fanpages there are. Do you know about them? [JEWEL:] "Yeah." [INTERVIEWER:] Cause there are some really lyrical fanpages; 'GODS GIFT FROM ALASKA' [JEWEL:] "(laughing) Yeah, I heard that one too." [INTERVIEWER:] What do you think of that? [JEWEL:] "(still laughing) Well, I've never seen this one, actually a journalist told me about it the other day... But you know, they say things about everybody; 'MEATLOAF IS GOD', 'CELINE DION RULES', you know. I can't be too flattered, haha. Whenever I get on the internet I always ask kids, you know, ehm... Idolizing is dangerous, being inspired is okay, and, there's a difference, you know what I mean. Being inspired by somebody puts energy back in yourself, idolizing somebody is a very idle worship. So I always, like, when I write on the internet, ask them, you know, to be more thoughtful about what they're doing. If they like me and like what I've done they should try and live by it and not, sort of, (laughing) become these idle zombies."
She's definitely somebody of "I'll do as you do, not do as you say". Although she should be able to appreciate a compliment more, and be a little careful with entirely labeling people based on things like this. After all, complimenting is somewhat like saying 'I love you': someone can tell you by action, but it's always good to hear But I do think she means well. | | |
